Choristers
Grades 2-4
Tuesdays, 5:15-6:30 pm
Members of the Choristers learn the basics of choral singing including: posture, breath control, diction, tone quality, and ensemble blending. Choristers are introduced to music literacy, reading music notation and sight-singing using Kodály rhythm syllables and Solfège pitch assignment. These skills, along with rehearsal and performance etiquette, are taught in an encouraging environment through age-appropriate repertoire. The Choristers perform a minimum of two concerts per year.
Chorale
Grades 5-8
Tuesdays, 6:45-8:00 pm
The Chorale is a beginner-intermediate ensemble that focuses on continued development of vocal technique, musical skills, and performance etiquette. This ensemble performs a wide variety of choral literature that is drawn from the following traditions: Western art song, classical music, folk music, music of non-Western origin, sacred music, and jazz. The Chorale performs a minimum of two concerts per year.

The ensembles rehearse once weekly.

September 8 – December 19 (No Rehearsal November 24)

Tuition and Fees
Tuition for each ensemble is:
Semester Tuition: $475
Payment Schedule:
- Due at registration: $100 non-refundable tuition deposit
- Remaining balance: $375 (due prior to the start of rehearsals)
Sibling Discount: Families with multiple children enrolled in our programs will receive 10% off tuition for every singer after the first singer.
What’s Included?
Tuition is intentionally all-inclusive. Families will not be asked to purchase additional required materials during the semester.
Your singer’s tuition includes:
- Fourteen weekly rehearsals and a culminating concert
- Professional instruction from a choral educator with over 15 years of teaching and conducting experience
- A professional accompanist
- Music and binder
- A choir t-shirt
- Concert uniform rental (approximately an $80 value)
Why is there a tuition deposit?
The non-refundable tuition deposit reserves your singer’s place in the ensemble and helps us purchase music, secure rehearsal facilities, pay for insurance, and prepare materials prior to the start of the semester. The deposit is applied toward the total semester tuition.
Where and when are concerts?
Fall Semester: Saturday, December 19, 2026 at 4 pm
Spring Semester: Saturday, May 15, 2027 at 4 pm
Concerts take place at Reformation Lutheran Church in Media, PA.
Is the choir a religious organization?
While we rehearse at Reformation Lutheran Church, it is just a rehearsal venue – we are not affiliated with the church. We perform music from various cultures, in various languages, and from throughout history. We are open to all families and do not discriminate based on religion.
Does my child need to have singing experience before joining?
No experience is needed.
